Why Use Natural Sunscreen?

We offer a range of organic, vegan, and natural sunscreens from leading brands like Nourished Daily, Little Urchin, The lekker Company and NAIF. Opting for a natural sunscreen is important for many of us due to its use of mineral filters instead of chemical filters found in conventional sunscreens. Natural sunscreens often cause less irritation to the skin, making them suitable for people with sensitive skin. Organic sunscreens are made with ingredients from organic farming.

Sunscreen Without Junk

Choosing a clean sunscreen is not only better for you but also for the environment, particularly marine life and coral reefs. Chemical filters in conventional sunscreens harm marine life, while mineral or natural filters do not. That's why more places around the world are banning sunscreens containing oxybenzone or other chemical filters. So, opt for a clean sunscreen—for your sake and the environment's.

Chemical Filter, Physical Filter, SPF, UVA & UVB

Discover the terms associated with sunscreen. Sun care products contain a type of UV filter or blocker and are recommended as a form of protection against sunlight. Sun care products can inhibit the transmission of UV radiation to the skin in different ways, depending on the type of product. Both products with chemical and physical sun filters prevent UV rays from penetrating the skin and causing sunburn.

+ Chemical (organic) sun filters are absorbed into the skin and then absorb UV radiation. Products with chemical sun filters contain various active ingredients (including octinoxate, avobenzone, oxybenzone).

+ Physical (inorganic) sun filters create a layer on your skin and reflect the light. The main active ingredients are the minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

Ideally, choose a broad-spectrum product (meaning it protects against both UVA and UVB rays) with an SPF of at least 30. SPF stands for "Sun Protection Factor" and refers to the theoretical amount of time the skin can be exposed to the sun with sunscreen compared to without sunscreen. Best Natural Sunscreen

That's our very own Nourished Daily natural sunscreen. The Daily Sunscreen SPF 50 is developed for the whole family and made with a physical filter, making it a clean sunscreen. Formulated with skin-nourishing ingredients including Aloe Vera and Kakadu Plum, the Nourished Daily Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 is a non-nano, non-greasy, ocean-friendly sunscreen.

How to Use Natural Sunscreen

Ensure you reapply your sunscreen regularly depending on the SPF you use. If you use SPF30, you're protected for approximately 300 minutes; if you use SPF50, you're protected for about 425 minutes. Keep in mind that this is without swimming or sweating a lot. We recommend reapplying every 3 hours if you're out in the sun all day. And don't skimp! You need a substantial amount of natural sunscreen. The recommended thickness of sunscreen application is 2mg per cm2, which equates to 6 teaspoons to cover an adult body. To protect your face optimally, you need half a teaspoon. Always wear a hat or cap for extra protection.
